Today I am thankful for a simple prayer.
During teachers in-service today, we had just found out that one of the Har-Ber teachers had been killed in a car accident that morning. We didn't know who it was yet, but one of the Springdale High teachers just suddenly asked if she could pray because she was feeling led to do so. She prayed a simple prayer for the family and for our own confidence in God's sovereignty. She even included a plea for the ability to speak to those within the room who might have questions about God as a result of the accident. I was so grateful and so moved by her prayer and by her boldness in doing that. Then to get to the high school and find out that she is going to be right next door to me all year...what a blessing on my first day.

Worthy Is the Lamb
Today I am thankful for "Worthy Is the Lamb."
We were in the middle of the church service this morning and in the middle of that song, when all of the sudden the Spirit of God was so incredibly felt in that sanctuary. At the risk of sounding charismatic or something, there were a bunch of people that started worshiping the Lord with uplifted hands and then Kevin McCullom started clapping in the middle of the song. In the past, that sort of thing would've really bothered me, but today I was so moved by the Holy Spirit through that song, I felt like joining right in. I absolutely started crying in gratefulness to my Savior who, so tremendously filled with love and grace, came to earth and died for me - an unworthy and so often ungrateful sinner.

A Day With My Parents
Today I am thankful for a day with my parents.
I got to rise and shine this morning to go see the first ultrasound of the baby. I was the only kid that got to go with my parents, so it was kinda cool to get to know (and see!) that it was a baby boy before anybody else knew...even if I was REALLY hoping it would be a girl. For some odd reason, my dad also invited me to go eat at Marketplace with them last night, too - just me. I was expecting to get grilled about stuff, but we just had a nice dinner together. Good times.
