My Christmas Gift

Today I am thankful for my Christmas gift.

Ryan and I received tickets to Chris Tomlin's concert in Tulsa from my parents for Christmas. Last night was our dinner/concert double-date with them, and we had so much fun. I was a full three-hour concert, complete with Rend Collective, Christy Nockels, a ton of Tomlin music and a great presentation by Louie Giglio. I usually don't like delayed Christmas gifts, but this one was worth the wait!

My Father-in-Law

Tonight I am thankful for my father-in-law.

Today is the first birthday Ken Martin has had since he had a daughter-in-law, and I'm thankful to be that girl. We sang for him before 7:00 this morning, and apparently I have a better morning voice than my husband. :-)

The Last Night of Handbells

Today I am thankful for the last night of handbells.

Once I'm there, I really do enjoy it, but it will be nice to come straight home on Tuesdays from now on. I always hate asking Ryan to go home alone and start dinner for me while I'm at practice, especially after nights like last night when he didn't get home until 9:00. I keep feeling like I need to further de-commit myself from things, specifically evening things, but it seems so hard to do when you're doing ministry things. Such is our life right now...

A Busy Day

Today I am thankful for a busy day.

It's not often I'm grateful for days when I leave work without being caught up, but today was an exception. After being away for a week, I enjoyed working through everything that I missed during my trip. It always helps, too, when 10 hours go by quickly and 5:00 surprises me. I like it when that happens.

My Husband's Passion

Today I am thankful for my husband's passion.

I haven't written these in a while, but I want to make an effort to start it up again. It's a good practice to thank our gracious God for His blessings on a continual basis.

Back to today's blessing . . .

A couple of hours ago, I got to watch the Kentucky Wildcats basketball team win their game versus North Carolina to go to the Final Four. He follows them so closely every year, and it takes a Final Four to make the season feel successful. This year, they did it, and I loved celebrating with him. My family even joined in on the fun tonight, and that's a sign of true love!
